Watercolour Rose Card
This month I have designed a card using two stamps, a collage stamp and a simple rose stamp. The effect we are trying to achieve is of a water colour painting of the rose. Everything you need to make this card is available at Hecho a Mano. We made this card in one of our recent workshops and it was very popular with our customers. Everyone seemed to enjoy making it and they were all very pleased with the end result. The card will be available to view in Hecho a Mano for a few weeks.

You will need the following:-
|
-
On the larger piece of cream card, stamp the collage stamp slightly left of the centre of the card
-
Repeat the stamping on all four corners allowing the stamp to overlap the edges of the card.
-
Ink up the long rose stamp with the plum ink on the rose head and the green ink on the stem and leaves.
-
Next, using the Spritzer, lightly mist some water onto the stamp before stamping the image onto the smaller piece of cream card. This technique will produce an image that looks as if it had been painted with water colours. It may take a few attempts to get the right effect (adjusting the amount of water that you spray) so it is a good idea to practice it on some spare card until you get the effect you want.
-
Allow to dry and then, using the ink pad and the Softscape Tool, lightly brush the edges of both the collage card and the rose card to achieve an airbrushed effect
-
Take the ink pad and press it onto a tile or any other non-porous surface. Using the water brush pick up some ink and colour in the hearts and the rose petals.
-
Layer up both pieces onto the black paper and glue the larger piece to the front of the card.
-
Then attach the rose as shown slightly right of centre with 2mm sticky pads
-
Apply the greeting to the acetate and attach to the bottom left of the card with two 1mm sticky pads.
-
Attach the two sparkle dots to cover the sticky pads.
-
Attach the bow with the glue dot to the rose and you are finished.
