Monochromatic Card

This week you’re in for an unexpected treat. The boss has told me that it’s my turn to do the project based on a birthday card I made for her recently. It’s a really useful design, quite simple to make (it had to be for me to make it) which can be used for any occasion.

You will need: -

  • A4 grey metallic card

  • Silver cardstock

  • Peel offs - borders, rose and greeting

  • Double sided sticky tape

  • Deckle edge scissors

  • Collall glue

  • M & F Score Board

  1. Place the short side of the A4 sheet against the butt bar of the M & F board and score along line 4 then turn it round and score line 4 again.

  2. Before folding into the zigzag shape, draw a line from the top corner of the first fold to the bottom right hand corner.

  3. Cut off excess along this line and fold to form a zigzag. Stick the smaller side back on itself to form a fancy DL card shape.

  4. Decorate with borders as shown.

  5. Cut two pieces of silver card 9 x 8cm and stick back-to-back. Cut another piece 9 x 5cm. Trim half a centimetre off all sides of both pieces with the deckle edge scissors. You should now have two pieces, approx 8 x 7cm and 8 x 4cm.

  6. Using the deckle scissors and waste grey card cut two rectangles to layer onto the silver pieces. (Approx 7x6cm and 7x3cm)

  7. Place your rose sticker onto the waste grey card and cut out. Stick this across the larger rectangle. Attach the whole piece to overlap the top diagonal taking care not to get any glue on the top left hand corner that overlaps and shows on the inside.

  8. Place your greeting onto the smaller panel and attach to the bottom third of the card as shown.
