In The Jungle
This month we have a whacky shaped card and that would be suitable for a number of occasions. It is not for the faint-hearted but well worth the effort. A professional crease is almost impossible to make without a folding board, and I favour the M & F Folding Board by Coppernob, which is the original and the best in my opinion. I find this an invaluable piece of equipment and it should be one of the first things you buy if you are serious about your card making. I often mention it in my instructions and have used it to make this interestingly shaped card.

You will need the following:-
|
-
Fold the blue card in half to make an A5 card. You can do this very easily using the folding board and scoring line 6 (half A4).
-
Next lay the card on the board with the short side to the butt bar and the crease at the top.
-
Mark line 1 lightly with a pencil on the bottom edge, then turn the card 180 degrees and do the same again on the crease edge.
-
Turn the card upside down and join the pencil dot to the corner. Turn the card the right way up and join the pencil dot to the top right hand corner. (You should now have two parallel lines).
-
Turn the card the right way up and with the hinge side to the butt bar mark line 3 on the top edge. Connect this mark to the pencil line at the right hand side edge. See diagram 1. Cut away the shaded part of the card to reveal your new shaped card. This all sounds rather complicated but it isn’t once you have made two or three of these cards. I suggest that you try it with a piece of paper first, and keep this as a template.
-
Cut a thin strip of patterned paper 4 x 14cm approx and stick it along the right hand side of the card.
-
With the other piece of the patterned paper 17 x 7.5cm approx. tear off a narrow strip towards you to give an uneven edge, then put it through the ribbler. If it is too small to cover the bottom edge of the card, then just stretch it gently and stick.
-
Stamp and emboss 5/6 leaves on the pieces that have been cut off your original card. Colour, cut out and attach as shown with double sided sticky pads.
-
Stamp and emboss 2 frogs, two flower groups and a greeting onto white card.
-
Make an oblong shape of the greeting and layer it onto blue card and then gold before attaching onto the front of the card.
-
Colour the frogs and flowers, then cut out and stick onto the card as shown with double sided sticky pads.
