CHRISTMAS CARD for cat lovers
“Tempus Fugit,” so they say, and incredibly by the time that this edition hits the streets it’ll only be two months to Christmas. I know that many of you are busy making Christmas cards and some have even completed their batch for this year. We’ve already designed and made in our workshops quite a few festive cards and the card that is featured here is made with a rather charming cat stamp set called Groovy Cats from Woodware. It isn’t really a Christmas Stamp set but it’s very versatile featuring words such as “Love me love my cat”, “You’re the cat’s whiskers”, “Have a purrfect day”, “Purrfect friend”, “Thank You”, “Meow…” and therefore would be suitable for many occasions. When I was a 7 year old I used to have a rather lovely black and white cat that I named Smudgy, as his markings were a little uneven. Unfortunately over the years (too many to mention) I have developed an allergy to cats but find that I can still quite happily handle these little fellows. Well, have a go and have fun crafting.

You will need the following:-
|
-
Place the dinner plate on the front of the card and draw a curve, lightly with a pencil, from the top left hand corner to the bottom right hand corner and cut away.
-
Place the holly border just inside the curved edge.
-
Stick the green square inside the card leaving a small white edge all around. This will help the card to close easily and looks pleasing.
-
Stamp the tree using the green StazOn ink onto the scrap of green card.
-
Cut out the basic tree shape with the deckle scissors then go in and out with the tips of the scissors to emphasize the branches. The deckle scissors give a nice uneven and realistic finish to the tree.
-
Stamp and emboss the cat on the scrap of white card using the black ink, clear embossing powder and heat gun. Cut out carefully leaving a small white border to avoid the embossing pinging off.
-
Paint the cat image and the holly border with the twinkling H2o paints.
-
Attach the tree to the left hand side of the card as shown using 1mm pads
-
Attach the cat using lmm pads where it overlaps the tree and 2mm pads elsewhere.
-
Attach the bow to the cat’s neck using the craft dot.
-
Decorate your tree with the red holographic dots, using about 3 of each size starting with the largest at the bottom. (It’s best to decorate your tree after placing the cat image as otherwise you may cover up some of your dots.)
-
With the card closed attach the Merry Christmas Greeting to the top right hand corner.
-
Place the gold star onto the gold card, cut out and attach to the top of the tree with a 1mm double-sided pad.
-
Stamp a greeting onto white pearlescent paper and cut out and round the corners.
Attach to the inside of the card making sure that it doesn’t show when the card is closed.
