Butterfly Hexagon

This card has been made with the free stamp from the July Issue of Craft Stamper Magazine. We still have a few copies left in the shop. This is just an example of what you can make with this stamp but there are many more in the magazine.

You will need the following: -

  • 14cm square white card and envelope

  • Free butterfly stamp

  • Piece of pretty patterned paper 12x12cm

  • Small piece of toning card for tag

  • Collall glue

  • Silicone glue

  • Glue dot

  • Purple Marvy Matchable dye ink

  • Double sided 3mm sticky pads

  • Embossing ink pad and detail silver embossing powder

  • Heat gun

  • Straight edge stickers

  • Greeting stickers or stamp

  • Purple Identipen

  • Piece of purple organza ribbon

  • Piece of wire (optional)

  1. Start by measuring and marking 4cm in from each side along each edge of the card. Then cut away each corner to make the hexagonal card.

  2. Measure 3.5cm in from each edge of the patterned paper and cut the corners away to make the centre panel and glue to front of main card.

  3. Edge this with the straight peel-offs.

  4. Stamp the image with the purple ink onto the toning card and cut around to make a tag shape. Border the tag with the straight peel off’s.

  5. Stamp the image again using embossing ink and detail silver powder.

  6. Cut out the butterfly only, without the antennae and bend the wings up from the body and shape with your fingers into a curve.

  7. Bend the wire into an antennae shape to match the stamped image and with silicone glue attach it to the tag along the line of the body and then stick the cut butterfly on top putting a blob of silicone under each wing to keep lifted,

  8. Attach the tag to the card at an angle using the double-sided pads.

  9. Make a bow and stick onto the tag with a small glue dot.

  10. Colour the greetings with the Identipen before peeling them off the sheet and sticking around the edge.
