Artists Trading Cards (ATCs)
Many of you have expressed an interest in trading cards through the shop. To this end we have organized a Swap for August and September with an ORIENTAL THEME. We will be displaying all the cards brought into the shop until the end of September when everyone who has given in a card with be given a swap. As we are closed until September17th you will have to keep them until our return. We look forward to seeing as many ATC’s as possible from all you avid crafters. Of course you can submit as many as you wish and will receive an equal number of swaps in return. It’s not very much to do; just a small piece of card (2.1/2” x 3 ½”) decorated with any medium you like but with an oriental theme. I have made one using the September Craft Stamper magazine’s free stamp. (For anyone having difficulty it’s the butterfly.) Instructions:- Stamp two images using VersaMark ink and emboss with Aqua Tinsel Embossing Powder. Then colour the image with Color Box fluid chalk from the Blossom Pastels Palette. Trim the image cutting off the leaves and put together to form the wings. (I used a glue pen and some silver glitter to enhance the image.) Stick to the card using 3mm pads underneath the wings to give them a lift and double-sided tape just in the middle where the body will be attached. Make a body out of the waste from a peel off sheet, stick onto some black card to give it body (forgive the pun) and cut out. I made a pair of antenna using a piece of coloured wire bent in half and then into little swirls at each end. Attach the body to the card using a little silicone glue and lay the wire underneath.
