Artist Trading Card Swap
An ATC is a miniature work of art created on a 64 x 89m (3 ½” x 2 ½”) card stock. They can be original, one-off’s numbered 1/1 or, if identical sets are made, they are called editions and are numbered 1/6, 2/6 3/6 etc. for an identical set of 6. On the back you should title your work and add your name, contact details (e-mail, or telephone number), the number of your piece and any relevant information about how you made it e.g. Distress Inks, Alcohol Inks, Twinkling H2O’s etc. They can be a series on a theme for example: - TRAVEL – Land, Sea, Air, or SEASONS - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, etc., or just little pieces of random art. They can be stamped, stitched, painted or any other medium that you care to use. Just remember they must be flat enough to fit into a trading sleeve which is the thickness of a credit card transparent holder.
The idea is to trade them with other crafters. We run ATC fun workshops where you can make, take and swap ATC’s. They are a great way to try out new ideas as you only have a very small area to cover and you can always use them as card toppers. I made my first swap with Wendie Rhodes, who many of you will know through the Create and Craft TV Channel. So come on Crafters, join in the fun and get making and swapping your cards. You may find that it opens up a whole new world of crafting friends for you.
Here are some examples of my ATC’s.
