I’m sorry…I missed your BIRTHDAY
For anyone like myself who suffers with Hay Fever and it’s been a long season, then you will appreciate that I don’t venture out much at this time of the year. However, this forced imprisonment means more time for crafting, and if you are a self-confessed craftaholic like me, then you could say that there is a bright side to everything. Enough of my rambling, here is this month’s card and I hope you like it. All the cards that we write about have been made in our workshops, so if you would like to try making cards like these then book yourself in, come along and give it a go. We have experienced crafters who love to share their knowledge and of course craft virgins, so you won’t be alone, and who knows you may even make new friends.
This card is very useful, especially as our memories often play tricks with us as we get older. I’m speaking for myself, of course, I know that you all have perfect memories and as such will have no need of this card, but just in case, here is a “missed birthday” card.

You will need the following:-
|
-
Very lightly shade all four edges of the white card with the orange dye ink using a Softscape tool or sponge
-
Randomly stamp a flower in orange ink all over a piece of green card 14 x 5cm
-
Layer this onto a piece of orange paper leaving a small border down each long side and stick it onto the card as shown.
-
Next stamp and emboss the teddy with flower and the words “I’m sorry I missed your Birthday”, on two separate pieces of white paper or card.
-
Colour the teddy and flower (I used felt tips and a water brush).
-
Cut to approx 6.5 x 9cm and 4.5 x 3.5cm. Round the corners using the punch then mount onto some gold card leaving a small border and round the corners again.
-
Stick these onto the front slightly overlapping the words as shown using 1mm double sided sticky pads for the teddy and 2mm pads for the words. (Remember to use a 1mm pad in the top left hand corner of the words to allow them to sit evenly on the card.)
-
Punch out a few small daisies in the orange paper and stick onto the right-hand side of the card with a glue stick. Finish them with a small gold dot taken from the waste of a peel-off.
-
Complete by tying the ribbon around the front left-hand side of the card and finishing with a double knot, and then place the pearl into the centre of the teddy’s flower.
Hey presto - one useful card to keep in the drawer. This card can be viewed in the shop and if you have any problems (related to card-making of course) please ask and we will do our best to help you.
HAPPY CRAFTING - YVONNE.
