4 Fold Card

There’s often an occasion when a card is needed to celebrate a new arrival so here’s one that’s unusual and innovative that I’m sure any new mum would like to receive.

You will need the following:-

  • A4 basket weave blue card cut in half lengthwise

  • Pieces of blue and lemon organza ribbon.

  • Piece of white card big enough to stamp the images.

  • Stamps used: Congratulations (Funstamps G22), Baby’s Bath (Stampendous D003), Pacifier (Stampendous AA001), It’s A Boy (Penny Black 435D), There’s Nothing Like a Baby (Penny Black), Baby Ducklings (Little Suzie’s Zoo from Rubber Stampede A2264C)

  • Navy blue Marvy Dye Ink Pad

  • 6” x 6” piece of contrasting patterned paper

  • Small piece of silver card

  • Black pigment ink pad

  • Clear embossing powder

  • Heat gun

  • 1mm sticky foam pads

  • Double sided tape or glue

  • Colouring pencils or paints

  • Some white sticky paper lace.

  • Stork peel-off

  1. Place the short edge of the card right side up to the butt bar of the M & F Folding Board and score line 6 (half A4). Turn the card over, then score line 3 (gate fold A4) and then turn the card 180 degrees and score line 3 again. Crease the folds to form the zigzag card as shown in the picture.

  2. Fold the card to show just the first section and cut the corners off at the top only to form the tag shape. When you open the card you should have the four tag shape.

  3. Punch a hole at the top of each tag and thread the ribbons through.

  4. Stamp the baby, pacifier and ducklings in black pigment ink and emboss using clear powder, colour and cut out images.

  5. Stamp “Congratulations” in the blue ink on the contrasting paper and then tear carefully above and below the word and attach, at an angle, to the front of the card.

  6. Attach the baby with sticky pads to a piece of contrasting paper and tear around the image leaving about a lcm border. Attach this piece with glue to the second tag of the card more or less in the middle,

  7. Stamp with blue ink the “It’s a Boy” and trim around it. Mount this piece onto the silver card and trim to leave a small border around the image. Mount at an angle onto the third tag.

  8. Stamp the rhyme onto the patterned paper and cut to fit on the last tag as shown. Use the stork peel-off just above the words.

  9. Attach the pacifier and ducklings with foam pads as shown.

  10. Decorate with sticky paper lace as shown.
